Out Of Office

I just wanted to inform my clients that I’m off to Canada to shot a wedding. So this means that know one will be manning the phones or answering e-mails.

As this extended weekend has fast approached I would like to take a moment and wish you all a happy and safe Labor Day weekend. I’ll see you all next week.

Angela and Jimmy Phat Greek Wedding

All I can say is WOW what an awesome wedding this was. I had a hard time selecting the images for the blog on this one. Since I had a hard time I ended up putting close to 50 images from this weeding on my new yummy website under Gallery 1, so why don’t ya head on over and check out Christos yummy website and some fun images from this wedding.

This wedding was held at Floral Terrace in Floral Park. The music was provided by non other then Power Station Orchestra and singing was the man Yanni Papastefanou. Ok enough with that let’s get to some pictures.

My favorite picture is the first one, This image was captured the moment after the brides dad put her shoes on. The emotions in this image are unreal filled with tears of joy.

What is going on today

Have you started noticing anything different regarding my website? Well maybe not, since my current site is flash based, and not to mention my uber new site is flash based as well. I do have an underlying HTML site that is used frequently by clients. No I won’t be whacking that stuff off, after all I need it since a lot of the pages have been indexed and they are my entry pages for links.
What has changed is the color scheme of the HTML site in preparation for the new site. So have no fear everything will still be there. I don’t have a launch date for the new site yet but take advantage of the upgrade on your print credit. Don’t know what I mean, well you should be reading my blog more often then :-) .

On a side note I would like to send out some blog love to John Kapaniris, a wedding photographer in Sydney. Check out Kapa’s blog for his latest entry and congratulate him on his image making it to the finals in a competition. Way to go John.

Fine Art Photography and Videography

I was sitting here today thinking about the title of this post and I decided to write a small blurb about this topic. If you have some time to kill and are really trying to get into my mind, well go ahead and read it. Otherwise it’s just some stuff for the search engines.

New website coming soon

As I mentioned in a previous post, I will be implementing a new website over the next couple of weeks. I was anticipating a launch date of September 1 2007, but I realized that I will be photographing a Greek wedding in Montreal Canada that weekend. I haven’t yet finalized the launch date yet, so it will be either the week after my return or the week prior.

The new site will be uber cool by putting emphasis on larger and cooler images. So keep checking out the blog to find out when the launch date will be, in the meantime here are a couple of screen shots for you. Oh yeah mention this and receive an additional one hundred dollar print credit towards your package. This print credit can be used toward any of the products I carry. This offer is good only till I launch the new site.

The new landing page.

And here is the main site. Cool, I’m so stocked (just in case you don’t know what i mean)

Peters Birthday Part 2

As I said earlier we had the official birthday party for my oldest son today. Not only that my son wanted his party to be held at Mcdonald’s, can you say Big Mac. He had a blast with about 20 kids running around the entire place. Needless to say I wasn’t able to take as many pictures as I would’ve liked but hey I was the host anyway.

My beautiful wife Helen with the birthday boy. Pay no attention to my son’s expressions after five years of daddy taking pictures of him, I think he has had enough. And now when ever he sees my camera pointing towards him he makes these funny faces.

You guessed it my son loves cars.

And let’s not forget about the youngest, playing a game of air hockey. And of course I have to post at least one black and white.

Peters Birthday Part 1

Last week was my oldest son’s birthday, and since I had to work that weekend we didn’t have a chance to celebrate it. So my wife decided to have a party for him this Sunday since I had a day off. Well Saturday’s engagement shoot had to cancel and that meant one thing. Play day for Peter, we took him out to one of his favorite places Dave and Buster’s in Westbury. Well after a short nap for the kids and a cloths change we ended up going to my favorite place, see below for more details.

Peter going to have a blast

Doing his best but he still finished last place, shhh don’t tell him that.

As I said earlier the family and I ended up going to one of our favorite summer hangout joints Pessos Italian Ices. If you are ever in Bayside you must try this place, it’s rocking. They are located on the corner of 35th avenue and 204 street, oh yeah if you ever see a guy chasing around two kids with a camera in hand, stop and say hello, it’s probably me.

The menu, YUMMMMMM

And since i couldn’t make up my mind, i had my wife order for me. This is what she got me Mango ice with vanilla ice cream. After all I must maintain my physique.

More to come after his birthday party today. Happy 5th birthday Panagiotaki

Before and After

I think it’s time for a show and tell of an image before and after. As all my current clients know all the proofs that you receive have basic white balance and color correction applied but are not finished 100%.
When you select the images for your album or purchase any enlargements from me, all images go through another round of editing and become the finished product. This is important to understand since I include a DVD that contains all the proofs on a high resolution DVD. The images on the DVD are of the same quality as the proofs, why do you ask well it’s rather simple. If I provide you with 800 proofs it’s not practical for me to retouch all the images since a large portion of them will not be ordered or end up in your album. The other thing is you are really paying for my experience and talent as a visual artist to document your wedding and for my experience to provide you with excellent imagery. Unfortunately this comes at a price and is what will set the images apart. Just because I own the same pots, pans and knife’s that Wolfgang Puck uses, it doesn’t mean that I can cook like him. Plus my wife is a better cook then I am anyway.

As you can see the image on the left is straight out of the camera and it looks pretty good as is, this is what you will be receiving as a proof print and what would be included on your DVD. The image on the right is a final print that will end up in your album or as an enlargement. Know you can see the difference on why you should come too me for your enlargements, but the choice is yours.
