Hi moms, I just wanted to drop you a little note about a fun little event that is happening on January 27 2011. I love sponsoring fun worthwhile events in this wonderful community, so come join us for the launch of  NY Mom’s World.

As I was checking my emails this morning I found this one buried in the pile that said I made the 2011 wedding professional hot list. Hmmm, now I have no idea how this all went down and in all honesty I’m not all into this award stuff. Deep down inside i’m just a simple person that loves creating art for my clients and to all of you that had anything to do with this thank you. You can read the copy here.

In a blink of an eye 2011 has approached and as the new year has rung in so has my services for Greek Baptism Photography. Many things are in the works including the launch of a new blogsite, but for now I will only speak about my Baptism services.

As a Greek baptism photographer in Long Island and New York, I have decided to rebrand by baptism services with a new look and a new approach. Why did my baptism services get rebranded first? Well simply put it was easier then tackling the wedding side of things before my wedding season begins in February. Now the big question what has changed? Well basically a facelift, but it goes deeper then that. I have decided to change my approach to baptism photography, In other words I will be going back to my roots of photographing baptisms in a fine art documentary approach. I will no longer be the right choice for all but the right choice for a few, in keeping true to sophisticated and elegant I feel this is the right direction to take. I don’t know if I should say it but if you are the type of person that likes to look at the camera for pictures we will not be a good fit. But, I will still be taking a portion of family formals as well but will be limiting them to the reception venue only.

Products and services have changed as well. I will begin phasing out standard RC prints and will only be offering custom fine art prints, yes the investment in fine art prints will be more but when clients view them they just seem to gravitate to the images. Two new luxury albums have been added to the product line beginning in the spring, and yes I hate to say it but the collection rates have increased as well. So stay tuned for more information, it’s going to be an exciting year with some wonderful imagery to come.

Living in both the real world and a virtual one, I was not able to find a balance that I can enjoy. My real world duties included as many of yours, being a husband, a father, a provider and a photographer. My virtual world revolved around blogging, tweeting, facebook and online marketing which in turn was a huge vacuum  of my time. And then I realized something, my real life was taking a hit and I was no longer enjoying myself since I was always thinking in the back of my head what should I blog about? what should I tweet about? what should I facebook about? So I decided to leave my virtual life behind. And I found comfort in that decision. I actualy had the opportunity to meet REAL people (gasp), shack hands with them, smile and laugh with them in person and I cain’t lie it actually felt good to do it. That is something the virtual world was not able to provide me, even with the endless flow of friend request on facebook and the never ending invitations to some party.

Since I have fallen so far behind in blogging I do not even know where to begin, but rest assured that I’m still hear creating wonderful art for my clients. And my clients are just as important to me as my family, except now I have balance and I know what I have to do. I will probably start getting back into blogging and all that other virtual stuff but in a smaller capacity. After all I am who I am, I’m not a corporation with employes that I pay to do this stuff for me and put no soul behind it.

Here is what i recommend, do NOT post the high resolution images anywhere on the Internet, this includes facebook, myspace, flicker and your own personal blogs. Think before you post any of your own personal images as well. As you noticed on my blog, the images are of low resolution quality and it includes a watermark to make it harder for image theft. If you decide to post one of my bloged images you are free to do so, but please do not crop out the watermark. It is there for a reason.

The entire product line has been revamped this year as well, I still carry a limited selection of matted albums and the only choice are leather covers. The new product line includes coffee table magazine and photo books, including flush mount albums in a storybook or stand alone image format. • Blog update, the blog has been recently updated to the latest version and is undergoing some tweaking. You may have noticed a simpler way in adding comments and also a contact form has been integrated. This is still a work in progress so more minor changes are to come.
• The online shopping cart is currently down undergoing a version upgrade so I should have this back up soon.
• A new website is currently in the works and hopefully will go live before peak wedding season comes around. But I did mange to add another gallery Photography by Christos, so go check it out.
• New sample albums are in the works.
• Price increases and wedding package updates are currently being worked on and will be going into effect on April 2 2009, so if you are on the fence now is the time to hook up with me.

I believe you get the idea, so hopefully I will be getting around to posting some weddings images that I have shot over the last few months.

Once again this wonderful day of love has come upon us. We all are secretly planning on how to share this wonderful day with our significant other. And others are all nervous, panicking and wondering if the planned proposal will go off without a hitch. Don’t sweat if, if she loves ya she will say yes. So to all those couples that will be getting engaged today congratulations it’s your day to shine, go out and enjoy it.

As with every valentines day, I am officially opening my 2010 calendar and accepting bookings.
