Peters Birthday Part 1

Last week was my oldest son’s birthday, and since I had to work that weekend we didn’t have a chance to celebrate it. So my wife decided to have a party for him this Sunday since I had a day off. Well Saturday’s engagement shoot had to cancel and that meant one thing. Play day for Peter, we took him out to one of his favorite places Dave and Buster’s in Westbury. Well after a short nap for the kids and a cloths change we ended up going to my favorite place, see below for more details.

Peter going to have a blast

Doing his best but he still finished last place, shhh don’t tell him that.

As I said earlier the family and I ended up going to one of our favorite summer hangout joints Pessos Italian Ices. If you are ever in Bayside you must try this place, it’s rocking. They are located on the corner of 35th avenue and 204 street, oh yeah if you ever see a guy chasing around two kids with a camera in hand, stop and say hello, it’s probably me.

Pessos Italian Ices.

The menu, YUMMMMMM

And since i couldn’t make up my mind, i had my wife order for me. This is what she got me Mango ice with vanilla ice cream. After all I must maintain my physique.

More to come after his birthday party today. Happy 5th birthday Panagiotaki

Before and After

I think it’s time for a show and tell of an image before and after. As all my current clients know all the proofs that you receive have basic white balance and color correction applied but are not finished 100%.
When you select the images for your album or purchase any enlargements from me, all images go through another round of editing and become the finished product. This is important to understand since I include a DVD that contains all the proofs on a high resolution DVD. The images on the DVD are of the same quality as the proofs, why do you ask well it’s rather simple. If I provide you with 800 proofs it’s not practical for me to retouch all the images since a large portion of them will not be ordered or end up in your album. The other thing is you are really paying for my experience and talent as a visual artist to document your wedding and for my experience to provide you with excellent imagery. Unfortunately this comes at a price and is what will set the images apart. Just because I own the same pots, pans and knife’s that Wolfgang Puck uses, it doesn’t mean that I can cook like him. Plus my wife is a better cook then I am anyway.

As you can see the image on the left is straight out of the camera and it looks pretty good as is, this is what you will be receiving as a proof print and what would be included on your DVD. The image on the right is a final print that will end up in your album or as an enlargement. Know you can see the difference on why you should come too me for your enlargements, but the choice is yours.

Christine and Yanni Wedding

I had this wonderful opportunity to photography another beautiful Greek bride and her now handsome husband Yanni. This lovely couple has been a blast to work with and hang out for frappethes during our relationship. And I must say I had a blast at their wedding. So Christine and Yanni congratulations guys. So I know everybody is waiting for some images and here you go. This wedding had so many wonderful images I had a hard time in selecting the images for the blog post so I decided to post more than usual. I also decided to post more images from this wonderful wedding ceremony that was held at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City.

Now don’t forget to check out the online slideshow by clicking here.

PS.
I’m sorry for the heavy watermark on the images but apparently certain studios / photographers in the NY area have been using my images and passing them of as there own, bad, bad, bad. So if you are a potential client and see my images on another photographers website please let me know.

Thanks
Christos

Katherine S. - I personally know Katerina & have dated her brother. She has grown to be such a beautiful young lady! The photos that you captured of them & her especially are a work of art!! The pictures say everything about this beautiful girl. She’s sweet, simple, sophisticated and I know her family is very proud of her. Christos, now I can only hope you could do the same for me. LOL

Olga and Yanni

I just wanted to congratulate you guys on your wedding, and it was my honor being part of your special day.
As you can see from the images below I’ve fallen in love with Black and White pictures in the reception hall. I don’t know why but I just feel it has the feeling of those very old Black and White Greek movies. I think you all know what I mean.

Talk to you guys soon.

Album Day

As I was sitting here enjoying the time with my family during holy week, the door bells rings. It happened to be Mr. FedEx, with six weddings albums. I always feel like a kid in a candy store when I open these albums and look at them. Then I say to my self, wow I’m sure my Greek brides will love them. One of my brides decided to against the grain and not order a storybook flush mount album, instead she wanted the matted albums. She was right, this album is absolutely stunning wrapped in Napa leather. In all I forgot how beautiful the matted album’s really are. So I’ll be preparing another order of a sample album for myself.  So folks here they are a couple of quick snaps for you.

April 5, 2007 - 3:26 pm

Photography By Christos - Hey Ria, think of it as a day off with nothing to do ;-)

The new site is alive

It has been in the making for sometime but I finally got around to finishing the new website. You can check it out by going to Photography By Christos. The final version of the website is still in the works, unfortunately it won’t be implemented till after this years wedding season. I know what a bummer.

Not only did I finish the new site, what was also in the works was a new logo and branding for Christos, so without further delay here is the new logo.

John Kapaniris - Yiasou Christos.

New site looks great, well done. Normally, I hate websites built with flash, they’re usually, slow, clumsy, difficult to navigate, you on the other hand created one that’s quick, simple, elegant & classy.

You’re inspirational, now I want to do something about mine.

Cheers.

Holy cow it has been a month already

Wow I can’t believe that it has been a month since my last post. There has been a lot going on at Christos’ camp over the last couple of months. Currently I have a new website that will be going live before the upcoming wedding season, otherwise I will have to live with my current one for the rest of the year. What is also coming down the pipe is a new brand for Photography By Christos, more about this in a couple of more weeks.
I know it has been some time since I posted an image but my wedding season doesn’t start till May this year. But I have been busy shooting Baptisms, and a lot of them. It truly amazes me how my clients ask for something different for baptisms today. So I figured let me share a couple of my favorite images with you.
