Christos, A Greek Wedding Photographer in New York

Numerous people frequently ask me why Christos specializes in Greek wedding photography. Well the answer to that question is rather simple. You see, I’m Greek myself. And since I live in Queens New York, Queens and surrounding areas has a huge Greek population, so from a marketing perspective it seems wise that I target Greek brides within Queens and Long Island.

Beside the marketing potential that targeting Greek brides may bring in from a business standpoint, what I found to be more disturbing is that often time’s Greek brides hire a wedding photographer that has never photographed a Greek wedding.
This is a mistake that I have seen in person, when I view the proofs brides provide me with for evaluation. I see it like this if a wedding photographer is not aware of the key moments during a Greek wedding ceremony, he will not be prepared to photograph them properly. With this inexperience you as the Greek bride will be disappointed in your wedding pictures. Trust me, I hear and see the horror stories.

With the hottest craze today, photojournalism wedding photography, it seems that many Greek brides are not happy with the results of the wedding ceremony coverage your wedding photographer has provided you and guess what, by the time you see your wedding proofs it’s too late.
That is why Christos employs a technique I call contemporary traditionalism. This technique is a combination of contemporary wedding photography along with traditional wedding photography during the Greek wedding ceremony. I don’t try to do too many artistic shots during the wedding service because I know that a will miss a few key moments myself, and heck I know when they occur during the service.

If you are a Greek bride and are interested in documentary style wedding photography Christos would recommend that you be extremely critical of the ceremony coverage when interviewing wedding photographers. You should also view a wedding photographers complete set of proofs, either they should be printed paper proofs or on an online gallery, and not just the best of shots, this will give you a better idea of the photographers skill.
